Fire has
gutted an eight-bedroom house at Tesano, near the Charleston Hotel. The
incident happened on Wednesday, October 25.
The fire
started around 9:30 a.m. and quickly spread through the house. The house help
reported hearing an explosion but did not realize it was from the house until
another massive explosion followed.
The occupants
of the house managed to escape unharmed, but all their belongings were
destroyed by the fire.
Firefighters
arrived at the scene of the fire about 30 minutes after it started, but the
house had already been partially destroyed by the time they arrived.
Firefighters battled the blaze for several hours before finally bringing it
under control.
The cause of
the fire is still under investigation.
Residents of
Tesano who witnessed the fire expressed shock and disbelief. Some of them said
that they had never seen such a big fire in the area before.
